Waterproof Stacking Garden Chair Cover

A tall cover for a stack of garden chairs, so you can put them away for winter in one go.

Stacking the chairs saves space over winter, but the stack still gets wet and dirty. These covers are tall enough to go over the whole stack, and there are straight and shaped versions to suit how your chairs sit when they're stacked.

Premium or Deluxe Fabric?

Both are waterproof polyester. The difference is weight and how well they hold their colour.

Premium (500 denier) is the cheaper option. It's strong and keeps the rain off, but the colour will fade over time in direct sun. That's cosmetic, and it still protects just as well.

Deluxe (750 denier) is heavier, UV stabilised so it keeps its colour for longer, and breathable, which lets some moisture escape. If the cover is going over furniture you care about, Deluxe is the one to go for.

Will It Keep the Rain Out?

Stitching is usually the first place a cover lets water in. On these, the seams are heat sealed with tape on the inside, so water can't get through the stitch holes.

Tip: put something in the middle underneath to make a slight tent shape, so rain runs off instead of sitting on top.

Will It Stay Put in the Wind?

A drawcord runs round the bottom and pulls tight with a cord lock, so the wind can't get underneath. There are eyelets too, so you can tie it down if your garden is exposed.

Which Size Do You Need?

The standard and large covers suit chairs that stack fairly upright. The shaped covers are stepped for chairs that lean back when stacked, so there's less loose fabric at the front. Measure the height, width and depth of your stack.

Straight or Shaped?

If your chairs lean back when stacked, go for a shaped cover. It's stepped to follow the angle. If they stack more upright, the standard or large cover will fit better.

How Tall a Stack Will It Fit?

The covers range from about 100cm high for the shaped version up to about 130cm for the large. The size table has the full measurements for each.

Are the Sizes Inside or Outside Measurements?

Inside. Measure your furniture at its widest and tallest points and pick the size that matches or is slightly bigger.

Why Is There Moisture under the Cover?

It's condensation from changes in temperature, and it happens under any outdoor cover. It can look like a leak. The Deluxe fabric is breathable, which helps, and taking the cover off to air every so often lets it dry out.

Can I Leave Cushions under the Cover?

Best not to. Damp can build up under any cover and ruin cushions, so keep them in a shed or garage.
