How does this summer room stay bright?
The front uses a Georgian half-glazed single door, paired with a Georgian opening window.
This combination brings in plenty of daylight while still giving you solid timber panels for privacy and shelter.
Why is the opening window useful?
The opening window allows fresh air to flow through the building. It’s ideal on warmer days when you want ventilation without opening the door.
All glazing is 3mm toughened glass, offering extra peace of mind.
What is the build quality like?
The walls are built from 12mm shiplap tongue & groove cladding, fixed to a 28mm x 44mm timber frame.
Tongue and groove boards fit together neatly, helping the building feel solid and well finished.
How strong are the roof and floor?
Both the roof and floor use 12mm tongue & groove boards, giving better support than thin sheet materials.
The roof is finished with grey mineral felt to help protect against rain.
What treatment is needed after assembly?
This summerhouse is supplied with a temporary water-based base coat. After assembly, it must be treated inside and out with a good quality wood preserver and a water-resistant finish.
Reapply treatment every year. All glazing should be sealed inside and out with a suitable watertight sealant.
