A retractable louvred pergola that combines full weather protection with the ability to open the roof completely.
Many pergolas allow you to control shade and shelter, but still leave the roof structure overhead at all times. If you want the option of completely open sky, a different roof system is required.
The Prestige Pod is built around a retractable louvred roof that not only rotates, but also slides fully open, giving you maximum control over how your outdoor space feels. It is made to measure in Suffolk by Caribbean Blinds, winners of the BBSA Excellence Award 2026, in any classic RAL colour.
The Prestige Pod uses a motorised aluminium louvred roof that can both rotate and retract.
When closed, the interlocking louvres form a watertight roof rated to Beaufort 12 - it can stay closed through wind, rain and even snow. The louvres can rotate up to 90° to control light and airflow, or slide away completely to create a fully open roof, with the unique S-shaped louvres stacking into just 13% of the total roof area.

The retracting roof system uses concealed roller tubes, belts, and sensors housed within the pergola structure.
Safety sensors ensure the louvres are correctly aligned before rotating or sliding, allowing smooth operation and protecting the roof mechanism. Everything is driven by a motor concealed within the framework, with the remote handset included as standard.
The Prestige Pod is made to measure in 1cm increments, designed around the retractable roof system.
Individual modules can be specified from 2.59m up to 6.0m in length and from 1.81m up to 4.0m in width (louvre span), at heights up to 3.0m, with layouts planned to suit the space available.
We can advise on sizing and layout options before providing a quotation.

Every option is integrated within the framework and operated from the same remote as the roof. Add them to your specification using the options above, or contact us for guidance.
Optional screens are integrated within the cross beams and lower to reduce wind and low sun while maintaining outward views, stopping at any position. Rated to Beaufort 6.
Screens use the Sattler Twilight fabric collection - choose Comfort (dimout, you can see through it) or Elements (full blockout) across eight colourways: Black, Cement, Platinum, Smoke, Slate, Taupe, Steel and Graphite.

Glass sliding panels turn the open sides of the pergola into a sheltered outdoor room you can use year round. Rated to Beaufort 12, they combine with fabric screens across other sides for full enclosure.
Note that infra-red heaters cannot be fitted on sides fitted with sliding panels.
Because the roof retracts, lighting is built into the perimeter of the cross beams rather than the louvres - a choice of warm white down lighting and colour changing RGB up lighting, both dimmable.
Lighting is controlled from the same remote as the roof, extending comfortable use into the evening without any visible fittings.

Cross-beam mounted infra-red heaters provide direct warmth without heating the surrounding air, extending use into cooler evenings and the shoulder seasons.
Heaters are not compatible with sides fitted with sliding panels.
A reliable, built-in radio-controlled motor drives the roof system, with the remote handset included as standard for smooth operation.
Clean lines are maintained throughout the structure, with internal steel supports and concealed fixings providing secure installation without visible hardware.
Every Prestige Pod is made to your exact dimensions, and modules can be joined together to cover larger areas in a single continuous look.
The Prestige Pod can be configured as a freestanding structure, attached lean-to to a property, or supplied roof-only within an existing structure.
Fixings are concealed within the uprights to maintain clean lines while providing secure anchoring to masonry surfaces.
