A bright, traditional summerhouse with a smart hip roof, so you can enjoy a calm garden space that feels light and welcoming.
Want a garden room that feels airy, not boxed-in?
A lot of timber buildings look good from the outside, but feel dark once you step in. This summerhouse keeps things bright, with glazed Georgian doors and matching windows. It’s a lovely spot for reading, crafting, potting, or just hiding from the washing up.
What makes the pyramid roof such a good choice?
The hip (pyramid) roof gives the building a balanced shape and a traditional finish. It looks smart from any viewpoint, which is handy if your summerhouse sits in the middle of the garden.
It also helps rain run off in multiple directions, rather than pouring off one big edge. Less drama. More tea.
How does the cladding help the building stay neat?
The walls use 12mm shiplap tongue & groove cladding. Tongue and groove boards slot together, helping the panels sit tight and look tidy.
That joined-up fit helps reduce little gaps and keeps the finish looking smart over time.
What do you get with the doors and windows?
The front has Georgian half glazed double doors with matching Georgian fixed windows. The glazing is 3mm toughened glass.
Toughened glass is designed for extra strength, and the lock and key lets you close up securely when you’re done.
How are the roof and floor built?
The roof and floor use 12mm tongue & groove boards. This gives you a more solid feel underfoot, and a sturdier roof deck than thin sheet board.
The roof covering is grey mineral felt. Like any felt, it needs regular checks so you can spot wear early.
What do you need to do after assembly?
This building comes with a temporary water-based base coat. It still needs treating shortly after assembly, inside and out, with a good quality wood preserver and a water-resistant treatment.
Treat it again every year. Pay extra attention to edges, rough timber, and the lower sections where splash-back can happen. And don’t forget the top and bottom edges of the doors (they get missed a lot).
How do you keep the glazing weather-tight?
All glazing units need to be sealed inside and out with a suitable watertight sealant (such as silicone). This helps reduce the chance of water sneaking in around the panes.
It’s a simple job that makes a big difference to comfort and long-term care.
