A freestanding, self-assembly bioclimatic pergola with electrically rotating aluminium blades, built for reliable sun and rain protection.
Fixed-size pergolas are often easier to plan around than fully custom builds, and the P1 is designed exactly that way — one width, four projection options.
How Does The Rotating Roof Work?
The P1's roof is made of aluminium blades that rotate 0° to 120° via a 24V DC electric linear motor hidden in the beam.
You can control sunlight and rain protection without leaving your seat, using the included remote.
What Happens When It Rains?
A drainage system runs through 2 gutters and all 4 posts, with the option to block one drain per gutter.
It's rated to drain up to 0.05 l/s/m², so water is channelled away rather than pooling on the roof.
How Sturdy Is The Structure?
Built from extruded aluminium profiles with stainless steel elements, rated for wind class 3 (~10kg/m²) and snow loads up to 30kg/m² as an even layer.
It's designed for UK outdoor conditions year-round, within these rated limits.
Can I Install It Myself?
The P1 is designed for self-assembly, with a full installation guide and safety documentation supplied.
That said, work at height and electrical connection require the right precautions — the manufacturer recommends qualified installers make the final electrical connection.

Is The P1 Freestanding Or Wall-Mounted?
It's a freestanding structure supported on four corner posts — it doesn't need to attach to a building wall.
Can I Choose Any Size I Want?
The width is fixed at 3.5m, but you can choose from four projection lengths: 3.40m, 3.85m, 4.30m or 4.75m.
What Do I Need To Do Before Installation?
The base needs to be load-bearing and level, with foundations sized per the manufacturer's guidelines. Anchoring elements are not included and must be selected by the installer based on the substrate.
Can The Roof Be Left Open In Bad Weather?
The blades should not be operated in snowfall, icy conditions or winds exceeding wind class 3. In storms or heavy snow, the pergola should not be used or stood under.
What Warranty Does It Come With?
AluProf's warranty is tiered by finish and component:
- 15 years: standard powder-coated profiles (Qualicoat Class 1)
- 25 years: special-order powder coating (Qualicoat Class 2/3)
- 10 years: anodized finish, insulated profile mechanical and thermal properties, rubber seals
- 3 years: tools and presses
- 2 years: system fittings (hinges, locks) and other accessories
